How should you quantify someone being the best version of themselves? Should that be someone who is very wealthy and doesn’t have to worry about the everyday hurdles that come with managing a budget? Should it be someone who vigorously trains and, by all standards, is a very healthy individual? Should it be a person who owns a home, has a loving family, has a pet, and is an active member of the local community? Lastly, is it a person of faith? Someone who believes that we are all working to reach a higher level and, thus, this life is all a test to secure eternal happiness. The good news is that if you think you are doing all you can to be the best version of yourself, then you are on the right path. For all you others, let’s begin this journey of improvement together!
My name is Dr. Josh Headley, and I am a chiropractor in Mount Pleasant. I have owned my own chiropractic business for about 10 years. You will need a little backstory about my past to understand my perspective today. When I went to college, I was involved in a terrible accident that left me in critical condition for about a month. My parents prayed daily that I would come out of this and someday be able to be my old self again. As faith would have it, a month later, I was released and sent back home. Two months later, I was back at college. The only problem was that because of the injury I sustained, my short-term memory was temporarily impaired, and school was much more challenging for me. Something that I had always cruised through in the past was now a burden. New obstacles presented themselves, and I needed to figure out a way to overcome them. Seven years after that tragic injury, I found a way to push myself through all means necessary and became a Doctor of Chiropractic.
As mentioned earlier, the story is the foundation that has brought me to where I am today. Obstacles arise, and we must act accordingly to come out on top. There is not one way for all people to get there. Success comes with many twists and turns. The same is true with our healthcare. What works for one may not work for another. For example, some people eat plant-based foods, and others are strictly carnivores. Sure, plenty of books have been written saying which one is right and how the other is wrong, but each side sees the benefits in their own way. Who is to say it’s wrong if they continue seeing noticeable gains? They are pursuing the best version of themselves by committing to a plan of action. Here is the next piece of good news, I designed my healthcare office with all of this in mind! Welcome to The ChiroSpa.
As mentioned, I have run my chiropractic office for about 10 years. At first, I was strictly a chiropractor. I made adjustments depending on each person’s needs. This was focused on x-ray misalignments, postural distortions, tight musculature, range of motion limitations, and/or pain. By removing interference, the nervous system is able to carry information throughout the body, allowing optimal function. In most situations, the chiropractic treatment plan worked wonderfully. I have countless stories of how people have improved after seeking chiropractic care. I did not create The ChiroSpa because I doubt chiropractic care can work alone. The ChiroSpa was created because people come in all shapes and sizes, and some respond to other therapies combined with chiropractic care.
The ChiroSpa is a state-of-the-art wellness facility incorporating chiropractic care with hyperbaric oxygen therapy, full-spectrum infrared sauna, cold plunge immersion, salt therapy, red light therapy, compression therapy, and massage therapy. When you come to our facility, we will do an extensive consultation, including x-rays, in most cases, and design a plan that will work for you. You can partake in any of the above treatments at our office for the same cost. We are a membership-driven facility that is affordable for the everyday person. Although we will design a plan, you can try the different therapies and decide which is right for you. I have always wondered why doctors don’t listen to patients more regarding how they can help themselves. Let’s try not to do that here.
